To Do List

20 17 resolutions......

I don't believe in new years resolution cause I always feel like come March everyone has either broken it or forgotten what it was but something I do do is, a to-do list.

I write a to-do list for the year, its a list of things I want to accomplish for the year. The list ranges from trivial to materialistic to essential and meaningful stuff.  I hide it at the bottom of my jewellery box ( anywhere really after 24hrs I tend to forget where I put stuff in general ) and somehow at the end of the year I always stumble upon it ( end of year clean out) and reflex and see if I achieved all my immediate goals of that year, goals that when the year started these things were fresh in my mind and above whatever else I did in the year I knew that before the end of the year I needed to get theses stuff done.

Last year to my surprise, with all the ups and downs the year had I achieved most if not all my "goals" for that year.

So much happens throughout the year. Ideas, trends, the next "big thing" we get clouded by the "noise" and new trend that each month has to bring that we are distracted from what we set out to do at the beginning of the year. January (at least the first few weeks of January) is a month of reflection and saying "this year I want to..".

So while the thought is still in your mind while that immediate goal is still in your head write it down make but a conscious effort that will become a subconscious effort to work towards achieving it.
It could be anything, a list of places you want to go, maybe you want to buy a car, do your drivers licence, move out, buy that one thing you've been putting off for months whatever it is that you know that you don't want the year to pass by without it be done. Before all the hustle and bustle of the year really start to happen write down the important things NOW!

Today is Saturday the 14th of January I've already done my to-do list for the year, I truly do encourage everyone reading to do theirs.

  1. I love the idea of viewing your goals for the year as a to do list. Here's to a wonderful year and achieving everything you've written down. xx
